Ace Malayalam director Kamal who has been making youth-oriented movies off late, is all set to add one more to the bandwagon. Starring a host of young guns who include Naren, Indrajith, Jayasurya, Manikuttan, Anoopchandran, Meera Jasmine, Samvrutha Sunil and Roma, Kamal will come back with Minnaminnikootam (Host of Fireflies) this July.
The story, written and directed by Kamal himself, traces the life of young techies, their friendship, frustrations, love and separation. “I chose IT because it seems to be the mantra these days. But, the movie has nothing to do with IT per se. It simply reflects what we all go through in our everyday lives, especially in a world that is increasingly becoming urbanised,” explains the director. The movie does not stress on the complications in the IT industry. Instead, it only highlights the fast-paced lifestyle of those in the industry and how it complicates various aspects of their lives. “I’ve only tried to capture the actions and emotions in an urban setting.”
